l could not be more satisfied with my association with the program and the students have so far had the privilege of tutoring -- and in some cases, actually meeting with their parents when they came to tour Duke. Being a part of such a fine service has added to my own professional life, and also given me hope for the future -- because the high quality of student, and their idealism, bodes well for our future world.

The session time is spent on the following steps and processes: getting to know the student and identifying areas of interest, developing and designing a research question, conducting a literature review, researching and finding relevant sources on the topic, reading and discussing studies and literature, outlining a research paper, and writing a research paper.

It was an absolute privilege to work with someone as talented, driven, and kind as Daakshy over the past two months. The mentorship program provided Daakshya with a personalized, hands-on learning experience focused on building critical data science skills. CMP enables young, talented high school students to complete a one-on-one research project with an experienced faculty member at a leading research institute… In the three months that I have come to know her, Claire has consistently produced scholarship on par with my students at the collegiate level.

I guided her to write her research paper step-by-step: idea generation, hypothesis formulation, gathering research articles and summarizing them, writing an abstract and outline, writing a first draft with 3 major points, and revising the paper until she had an excellent final draft.
