Program Outline
Week 1:
The student is introduced to key concepts such as globalization, trade policies, and market entry strategies, along with research methods used in business studies (e.g., surveys, case studies, and data analysis).
Week 2:
The student selects a research project (e.g., analyzing market entry for a product into a specific country) and begin reviewing existing literature to build context and identify gaps.
Week 3:
The student analyzes the target country’s cultural, economic, and regulatory environments using tools like Hofstede’s cultural dimensions and the PESTEL framework.
Week 4:
The student collects data on market size, consumer behavior, competition, and trade conditions. They may use secondary sources such as market reports or government trade data. The mentor will complete a mid-point evaluation to be given to the student.
Week 5:
The student applies SWOT analysis to their research, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to the business strategy in the target market.
Week 6:
The student develops actionable recommendations, such as entry strategies, pricing models, or marketing campaigns, based on their analysis.
Week 7:
The student evaluates financial feasibility, operational challenges, and potential risks by utilizing tools such as break-even analysis and scenario planning.
Week 8:
The student presents their research findings, supported by a comprehensive report detailing their methodology, analysis, and recommendations.
